September Bits & Pieces

A collection of moments over the month:

We had play time at the park...

More croupy coughs and sniffles...

We celebrated Michael's first Father's day!  What a lucky boy is to have such a fantastic hands on Dad...

Then I got sick with a cold (right in the midst of early pregnancy and organising a dance concert!).

Louis riding high on Dad's shoulders...

Lunch at Pa's for Father's Day but no photos...

Lot's of cleaning up after being unwell and listening to Louis chat with so many words!
Feeling really excited about becoming a Mum to 2 little ones!  Watching them grow and develop into little people is the most amazing experience.

Some new shoes...

Painful drop off to daycare on Thursday afternoon.  Louis gets so upset and I feel awful.  He only stays 2 1/2 hours once a week but the guilt I feel is out of this world.  He's always so excited to see me when I get home from teaching (Michael picks him up when he gets home from work).
The other downfall to daycare has been the by Friday or Saturday almost every week he seems to come down with another cold or virus.

Michael's been working Saturdays and even with his Dad up at Bonnie Doon on RDO's.  It's so hard to have him away even though the extra money is good.

I'm looking to finish up the dance school at the end of the year if I can't sell it.  It feels like it will be far too much to manage with another baby on the way.

New Thomas the Tank Engine Pj's (and a spotty rash to match...poor little munchkin)

Steve Irwin (The Wildlife Warrior) died...I was devastated watching the memorial.  Such a loss.

We visited poor Oma Dukker to say our goodbyes.  It was so sad and very emotional when she said that she was praying for my babies every night.  She passed away the next night with no pain and with her family around her.  So heartbreaking.

I hit 10 weeks pregnant...the time is flying by!

We celebrated Mum's birthday with lunch at her house...

With so much going on I have felt really tired and have been getting headaches.  It's been enough just to keep my head above water.

Louis and I had a big day out to visit our wondering Belly Belly forum friends...

From left Tracey & baby Jordan, Cindy and baby Tori, Nikki and baby Chantelle and me with Louis...

We had Oma Dukker's funeral which was heart wrenching...I came home to have a big cry because you can't always have a big cry at funerals can you?  Always feels like I'm holding it all in really.

I went food shopping and bought way too much junk food...can I blame it on pregnancy?

11 weeks pregnant, a mini shopping spree and a trip up to Bonnie Doon for the weekend!

September...that's a wrap!

We have a due date!

On Monday we all went to the clinic to have a dating ultrasound.  We found out our little baby is due on the 20th April 2007!

So...that makes me 6 weeks and 3 days pregnant!

Unfortunately, the ultrasound lady was completely awful and we didn't get any video or cute photos.  We won't return to that clinic every!

Tuesday Louis took 3 steps!  Holy Moly!  I'm feeling nauseous and tired but can't think of a better reason in the world for that.

Louis loves watching Max & Milly from New McDonalds Farm on the TV...

No signs of a tummy yet even though I can't stop eating.  I can't wait!

Adjusting to early pregnancy...

Nausea, napping and so sleepy.

Luckily I don't feel too bad though.

Louis has been saying so many words like "banana" and "ted".  Such a clever munchkin.

On Sunday Dad called and we went off to watch Carlton vs Collingwood at the MCG.  We went with my brother, sister and nephew.  It was a nice break!  Michael and Louis had a nice day together and I missed them so much.

Sharing the news in Bonnie Doon...

Up to Bonnie Doon to let Oma and Opa know they are going to be Grandparents again!  So fun to share the news and they were very excited to hear.

Louis loved seeing the cows and kept saying "moo".

Getting stuck into a bikky...

Louis with his first beer...not for another 17 years 2 month Opa!

It's always so nice to visit the country.  The open space, fresh air and quiet is so peaceful.  Louis had a big nap today so I had one as well.  So nice!

Gearing up for some big news!

Another week coping with running a dance school, feeling sick and loving on this little cutie...

Louis had his first visit to childcare which was not fun.  He only stays for a couple of hours when I drop him off at around 2pm and Michael collects him around 4.30pm.  Not the end of the world but I still struggle with it!

He had his first visit to Lilydale lake and wasn't so sure of the grass and sand but by his second visit he was a little more interested in it!

Louis is now 10 months old!  The time is flying.  He now is 71.5cm long and 8.8kg in weight.  Growing nice and healthy even though he is a little munchkin.

Louis and I have both been fighting off a rotten cold this week.  Poor little thing has slept terrible with his snuffly nose, therefore I've slept terrible as well.  A long week.

I had a check up with my Dr and all of the iron and vitamin levels look good.  That's exciting because I'm really looking forward to trying for baby number 2!!! I'm so clucky.

Which is interesting because just a week later I took a pregnancy test and...

I'm so excited and I think Michaels very surprised! Haha.  I took the test because I woke up feeling a bit strange and little queasy and a nice strong line appeared!  (I found out later from my scan that today I was 4 weeks 6 days pregnant).  Another little bubba to add to our growing family!!  So happy.

On to August...

Ups and downs this week with a few challenges with work and organising day care.  We also had a rotten weekend with a tummy bug affecting Michael and I.  Luckily our little Louis didn't seem bothered at all!

Seriously, check out all of the cuteness...

We've been having lots of giggles and playing and so much fun. (What a little dribble pot!).

He's standing up all the time and saying words like Dada, dog and moo.  What a little chatterbox!

He's standing up all all of the time now, for a good 5 to 10 seconds all on his own!  What a champion.

I keep saying it but I think this is my favourite age so far!

End of July...

We had a busy Wednesday with Gymbaroo and mothers group.  Unfortunately the dance teacher that works for me is finishing up so I'll need to put Louis into daycare for one afternoon a week for term 4. Not an ideal situation but I don't really have a choice.

Louis loves seeing the puppies at the pet store!

On Saturday we got a dishwasher! Woohoo.  What a world of difference that will make!

Sunday we had lunch at Nanna's house.  Before we left poor Louis fell off the bed and bumped his head.  He was fine luckily!  It was such a nice sunny day I took Louis, Luke and Kelly for a walk to the park.

An ordinary week...

Just an ordinary week in our home.  Teaching and trying to get enough sleep!

On Wednesday we had a nice visit with some friends and this week Louis said the world "car"!

This boy sure keeps me entertained!!  So lucky to be his Mum!

On Sunday Nanna took Louis for a visit up to Aunty Sharons.  I missed him so much!

Love the everyday...

Louis is getting unwell again and sleeping terribly.  He's up every 2 hours unless I bring him into bed with me and then it's 3 hours!

He can stand on his own for a quick second and can crawl so fast.

Wednesday we had Gymbaroo and Louis climbed up steps and crawled through tunnels.  He loved it!  At mothers group he had a play with a puppy.

He is eating fork mashed food and pasta.  Also finger foods like cheese, fruit & veg.

Friday we headed off to Bonnie Doon.  We had a great weekend except Louis cried when he heard the cow "moo".  Poor little thing...haha.

9 months old...

and still no photos!

We had a great week even though poor Louis still has a snuffly nose. He is snoring in his sleep which is pretty cute though.

I went to the gym and when I picked him up from creche Louis gave me a big hug and kiss.  Awww.

While I was teaching on Tuesday, Sharon and the kids babysat Louis.  We have to watch Aunty Sharon because she likes to eat all of the baby food! Haha. I felt a little sad because I missed having him there with me, and after we got home it was a quick bath, feed and bedtime.  I'm such a sook honestly.

Wednesday, Louis had his first visit to Gymbaroo which was so much fun.  He loved all of the activity and music. He slept a full 12 hours overnight so for that alone it's worth the big $$ it costs!

Thursday we went shopping and Louis sat in the trolley.  He has been drinking water out of the sippy cup all on his own now.

Saturday we had dinner at Sharons and Louis stayed up until 10.30pm.  Holy moly!

Sunday was the official 9 months old.  We painted the hallway from a purple colour to an off white.  It looks much better and brighter.

The other news was that I finished the last of my mini-pills.  Yep...who knows when another little baby will be on it's way! I told Michael it could take 6-12 months but you never know!

Sad news...

So life was cruising along.  I was even getting some sleep-ins until 9am which was heaven!

I was enjoying going to the gym and putting Louis in the creche which was all good, except by Tuesday night he had a temperature and was unwell...again!  Poor little thing is having a bad run of it. Of course this also means a heap of unsettled sleeps and night time waking.

Louis has worked out how to put the ball through the hole of the kick and whirl!  Clever little thing.

He's been eating some of our meals like mushroom and broccoli risotto and is loving all kinds of foods. Louis also loves to wave bye bye.

Sunday we headed down to visit Big Oma and Opa.  Sadly, Michaels Oma has been diagnosed with liver cancer so it was very nice to visit with them.  Not a very nice situation though at all...

Unwell Louis...

Poor Louis has been sick again this week.  We had a nice snooze together on Monday morning which was much needed after a bad nights sleep. He has a rotten little cough but the Dr's just said it seems like a standard virus so we avoided medicine.

Luke and Kelly stayed over which is always fun!  I got an extra hours sleep in due to these great babysitters!

Louis can sit down after standing now which means no more getting stuck.   He's also clapping his hands. Such a clever little boy.

Uncle Danny babysat on Saturday night so that we could have dinner out for a birthday and Louis could stay at home all toasty and warm.  He was awake and playing when we got home at 10.30pm so we know who has Uncle Danny wrapped around his little finger.  Haha.

Cheeky little thing...

This week...

No photos this week!  Bugger.

We took Louis to the swimming pools for a splash.

He had a MCHN check up.  Stats:

Weight: 8.2kg
On the 25th percentile.  He has a pincer grip already which is 12 month old level!

Our daily routine looks a little like this:

Breastfeed: 6.30-7am
Breakfast: an hour later
Breastfeed: 11am
Lunch: 12pm ish
Breastfeed: 3pm
Dinner: 5.30pm - 2 courses - savoury and sweet
Breastfeed: 6.30pm ish.

Louis has been crawling so much on the hard floors he has bruises on his knees!  Poor little munchkin.  He stands up against the mirror inside my wardrobe door and has little talks with himself.

Nanna babysat on Saturday night while Mum and Dad went out to visit some friends.

Louis has a little cough and runny nose this is the winter season but I think it has a lot to do with being around all of the kids at dance classes.  Which I'm completely over after a rotten week with teachers running late and being away and having to fill in and run a presentation night.  Grrr.

Moving around...

This guy is getting around all over the place.  So much fun!

I also took Louis down to a modelling agency and got him signed up!  Who knows if he'll end up a superstar!!

We had a visit from our forum friends Nikki and Cindy and had a great catch up! Such a fun age with all of this interaction!
